Oriole 18 is an exercise in restraint before reveal, the kind of quiet build-up the practice returns to often: stone, glass, reflection and light, orchestrated so the house feels composed and connected to its setting in equal measure.

The arrival is deliberately held back — substantial stone walls, slender vertical elements and dark reflecting pools create a mood of anticipation before the canal is finally allowed to appear.

Inside, the house opens into a series of generous volumes where double-height spaces and expansive glazing amplify light, outlook and the sense of continuous space. Natural stone sits as tactile counterpoint against crisp white surfaces and finely detailed glazing, giving the interiors real warmth and weight without losing their clarity.

Water becomes the recurring motif throughout — in reflecting pools, along circulation, and in the swimming pool that draws the principal living spaces out toward the canal. That layering of water, terrace, interior and horizon builds a genuine sense of depth and calm, resulting in a home refined through proportion, material contrast and the constant interplay of light, water and view.
