Kwilena makes its introduction through contrast.

 

To the street, interlocking white and dark forms build a bold composition of solid planes, recessed openings and expansive glazing, revealing only carefully framed glimpses of what lies beyond — dramatic internal volume and a tightly controlled material palette giving the house real presence before the door is even open.

Step inside and the character shifts entirely. A generous double-height entry introduces a sculptural black stair as its defining move, with long sightlines pulling the eye through the house toward the canal beyond. Kitchen, dining and living spaces come together as one fluid social environment, unified by crisp detailing, dark joinery and a strong, constant visual connection to the water.

Upper-level galleries, internal voids and carefully positioned openings keep every level visually connected without losing definition between them, building a real sense of scale. More intimate moments — a home theatre, an integrated wine display — sit against that openness, offering enclosure exactly where it's needed.
